Since 1992, Safeguard Covers have proven themselves in the demanding Oil & Gas and Exploration & Production Industry. Safeguard® Hi-Traction® Step, Walkway, and Ladder Rung Covers are used everywhere slip prevention is critical.

Glo Yellow & Glo-Traction® Colors

Photoluminescent glow-in-the-dark colors can offer extended safety for crew members and employees when darkness falls or power failures occur. Combine Glo-Traction® Colors and safety messaging to provide critical directions for escape routes on steps, walkways, and ladders in emergency situations. Our photoluminescent pigment is non-toxic, non-radioactive and can be recharged repeatedly during the life of the product.

The Safeguard Difference

Safeguard® Hi-Traction® Covers are manufactured in the widest range of base material construction including 1.2 mm (18ga.) #316 Stainless Steel, Marine-grade Aluminum, G90 Hot Dipped Galvanized Steel, and Pultruded FRP/GRP Composite (Fiberglass), Geo-Membranes, and Heavy-Weight Rubber Mats. Incorporating Fused Alumina Aggregate makes Safeguard Covers durable enough to provide years of Anti-Slip protection backed by a 5 year warranty.

One & Two-Tone Color Configurations

“Safety Yellow” is the most popular color used, but by incorporating a second color, a two-tone configuration can be created, calling attention to the leading edge. This will provide a contrast between the step edge and the back of the tread for easy definition and clarity.

Installation

Safeguard® Hi-Traction® Covers are non-load bearing, and are prefabricated for installation over existing surfaces, including steel and composite grating as well as solid metal, wood and concrete. Installation is accomplished using Universal Saddle Clip assemblies, Screws, Bolts and/or Adhesives. Pre-drilled or slotted holes are available to minimize installation time and costs.
