SAFEGUARD Hi-Traction Ladder Rung Covers

Patented SAFEGUARD® Covers for ladder rungs provide confident antislip protection right where it is needed most.

Typical ladder rungs, especially those made from bar stock, are notorious for slip problems, especially in wet and oily environments. This is one of the most dangerous locations for any worker as the foot surface area is small and needs to have excellent traction.

To solve this problem, Safeguard manufactures two styles of slip resistant Ladder Rung Cover – “channel shaped” and “half-round”, both of which fit easily over the rung. The “half-round” cover is available in pultruded FRP (fiberglass) only. Both styles can be installed using adhesive or mechanical fasteners (over hollow rungs). Metal Ladder Rung Covers can be tack welded to metal rungs.

The Covers provide superior traction and long lasting performance, and significantly enhance ladder safety. They are resistant to many chemicals, corrosion, and the harsh abuse of boot traffic up and down the ladder.

SAFEGUARD® Ladder Rung Covers are ideal in either indoor or outdoor use, in all types of harsh weather or dangerous conditions. A range of safety-oriented color options is available, as well as two-tone combinations and photoluminescent HiGloTraction (glow-in-the-dark) configurations.

They can be retrofitted over ladder rungs in the field, or as an OEM enhancement.

Note: The (A) dimension is generally up to 2” shorter than the length of the rung. If complete rung coverage is desired, make sure that no obstruction (for example a weld bead) will interfere with the seating of the rung cover.
